~ Homemade Cereal ~
Ah, cereal. That classic breakfast many of us grow up with that fill out bellies but was often filled with empty calories. Although I have found some, options now that are not added an excess of unnecessary additives, like Seven Sundays grain free muesli, to reduce our footprint, homemade is the way to go! Below is my first recipe to try!
Pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Now in a bowl, mix the following ingredients:
- 1 cup – Oat Flour
- 1/4 cup – Almond Flour
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons – Tapioca Flour
- 3 Tablespoons – Coconut Sugar
- 1 Teaspoon – Psyllium Husk
- 1/2 Teaspoon – Himalayan Salt
- 1 Tablespoon – Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup – Plant-Based Mylk (I used HM Cashew)
- Coconut Oil – To add to the parchment paper
Blend the ingredients well and then place the sticky batter onto a piece of parchment paper coated with coconut Oil. Place another coated sheet onto and roll thin with a rolling pin. You want it to be about 1/4 an inch thick if possible.
Place in the oven for 15 minutes. Then break into small pieces. Alternatively, you can cut with a pizza cutter, but I like the differing shapes. Now, place back in the oven for 12-18 minutes, depending on how brown and crunchy you like your cereal. That’s it!
Try to eat within 3 days.
NOTE: Another way to cook this is to use a small cookie scoop for the recipe. I will try this and let you know how it turns out!
